The Sukhoi Su-30MKK (Flanker-G) is a twin-seat, twin-engine high-performance strike fighter developed by the company from its Su-30 (Flanker-C/G/H), itself an evolution of the original Cold War-era Su-27 "Flanker" series. The design retains the air-to-air combat capabilities, agility, and excellent straight-line performance of the original while incorporating additional, advanced technologies to optimize the platform for the precision strike role. The crew sits in tandem aft of a radar-housing nose assembly and the engines are buried within the design in a side-by-side arrangement. Series introduction was in December 2000 and production since then have resulted in 165 total examples.

The aircraft is in service (as of early-2024) with the nations of China, Indonesia, Uganda, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Over 70 airframes make up the Chinese fleet.

The series encompasses both the MKK and MK2 marks. The MK2 followed with an enhanced avionics set and improved digital processing. Its ability to operate over-water was also improved making it an ideal platform for naval services interested in a supersonic maritime attack platform. The proposed subsequent Su-30MK3 mark fell to naught but would have carried more powerful radar.

The aircraft carries twin Lyulka AL-31F afterburning turbofan engines rated at 28,000lb of thrust each with reheat. Maximum speed is 1,320mph (Mach 2) with a range out to 1,900 miles. Its service ceiling reaches 56,800 feet with a rate-of-climb of 60,000 feet-per-minute reported.

Standard armament is a single 30mm Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1 series autocannon for close-in work with 150 cannon rounds afforded to it. The aircraft has provision to carry modern missiles and precision-guided ordnance held on external underwing (3 per wing) and fuselage hardpoints (including under intakes and at centerline) making for an all-in-one strike solution. This includes the R-73, R-27, and R-77 AAMs as well as Kh-29 and Kh-59 AGMs and the Kh-31 anti-radiation (anti-radar) missile. The aircraft also has the ability to carry traditional dumb bombs and rocket pods.
