IMI Galil Marksman Assault Rifle Mark 1 Designated Marksman Rifle / Assault Rifle (1996)
The IMI Galil was slightly modifief to become an accurized sharpshooter rifle in the Galil Marksman Assault Rifle
As a ranged weapon based primarily on medium- to long-distance precision, the MAR Mark 1 is completed with specially refined barrels that are manufactured strictly for the role. Each are chrome-lined and maximized to take advantage of the full power inherent in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, all set within the proven Galil framework (itself based on the Kalashnikov AK family by way of the Finnish Valmet m/62). The MAR Mark 1 retains the original's double-strut folding stock (folding over the right side of the receiver) but sports an adjustable cheekpiece for comfort. The included bipod is adjustable and folds backwards against the foregrip. The curved, detachable box magazine holds 35 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition in a stacked, spring-loaded arrangement. An scope is mounted along the left side of the receiver while iron sights are retained as backup.
