The Mossberg Patriot is a conventional bolt-action rifle centered on the game-hunting market. The company offers the product in a plethora of styles, finishes, and chamberings to satisfy even the most discerning of hunters. Variants include the traditional Hunter, enhanced Vortex, the suppressor-ready Predator, small shooter Bantam, and the tactically-minded "Night Train".

The base Patriot Standard rifle has a drop-box magazine with fluted barrel. The bolt is spiral-fluted and the bolt-handle streamlined to the natural contours of the rifle body. Trigger pull is adjustable from 2lb to 7lb. Available chamberings include 350 LEGEND, 300 WIN MAG, 7mm REM MAG, 450 BUSHMASTER, 30-06 SPRG, 270 WIN, 25-06 REM, 308 WIN, 22-250 REM, 243 WIN, 338 WIN MAG, 375 RUGER, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

The LR Tactical offering departs from the series in appearing more - tactical complete with pistol grip, slotted forend, over-receiver Picatinny rail, and padded shoulder rest / cheek rest. Trigger pull is from 2lb to 7lb (adjustable). Available chamberings supported include 308 WIN, 6.5 PRC, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

The Patriot Vortex has a drop-box magazine with fluted barrel assembly. The bolt is spiral-fluted and the bolt-handle more streamlined to the contours of the rifle. Trigger pull is adjustable from 2lb to 7lb. Finishes include walnut and synthetic. Supported chamberings are 7mm REM MAG, 300 WIN MAG, 35-06 REM, 7mm-08 REM, 22-250 REM, 30-06 SPRG, 270 WIN, 308 WIN, 243 WIN, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

The Patriot LR Hunter is marketed as a solution for either target shooting or game hunting. A section of Picatinny rail is featured over the frame which is completed in a "spider gray" finish. The forend is flat and the grip handled size reduced to better accept a gloved or small primary hand. The barrel assembly is offered in a 22in or 24in length and is fluted and threaded - the latter quality allowing for a muzzle brake or suppressor to be installed. The magazine is of a drop-box design and the bolt spiral-fluted, the bolt-handle also oversized for faster, more controlled management. The trigger is adjustable between 2lb and 7lb. Available chamberings include 6.5 PRC, 300 WIN MAG, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 308 WIN.

The Predator is a suppressor-ready / optics-ready model for big game hunting. It sports an over-receiver Picatinny section of rail, threaded barrels of 22in or 24in lengths, and a trigger pull (adjustable) of 2lb to 7lb. The bolt handle is purposely oversized for easier, fast management. Finishes run from matte to camouflaged. Chamberings include 7mm PRC, 22-250 REM, 6.5 PRC, 450 BUSHMASTER, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 WIN, 243 WIN, and 308 WIN.

The Bantam is designed with the small stature shooter in mind while retaining all of the excellent qualities of the full-sized rifle. Available barrels measure 20in and 22in. The trigger is adjustable from 2lb to 7lb. Chamberings include 308 WIN, 7mm-08 REM, 6.5 Creedmoor, 243 WIN, 350 LEGEND. There are matte and camouflage finishes.

The Night Train is offered with an over-receiver accessories rail (and variable scope), multi-baffled muzzle brake, and forward-folding adjustable bipod assembly. The fluted barrel comes in 22in and 24in lengths and is threaded for accepting a suppressor. The trigger is also adjustable between 2lb and 7lb. Chamberings are 308 WIN, 300 WIN MAG, and 6.5 Creedmoor which results in cartridge capacities of 5+1, 3_1, and 5_1, respectively.
