The Barrett REC10 is an AR-style automatic weapon chambered in the .308 Winchester rifle round. It is manufactured by Barrett Firearms of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The rifle is arranged in a traditional way with the ergonomic pistol grip and forward magazine well. The detachable box magazine houses 20 rounds. Operation is through a semi-automatic action with direct impingement system with the charging handle found at the upper rear of the receiver. The ejection port is set to the right side of the body.

Overall length is 34.5 inches with a 16" barrel length. Weight is 9lb.

Key qualities of the gun are its Magpul MOE SL carbine buttstock (adjustable) and the slotted/vented M-LOK handguard. There is a full-length accessories rail over the gun and a short section under the forend (aft of the muzzle). This allows for various after-market optics, aimers, and lights to be installed. Flip-up sights are incorporated into the base configuration, the forward device along the handguard aft of the muzzle and the aft device at the extreme rear of the receiver. The muzzle is given a three-prong or multi-baffle brake. Controls are within easy reach of the shooting hand. The upper and lower receivers are precision-machined.

The rifle is intended for the Designated Marksman Role (DMR) or similar long-range shooting tasks. Available finishes include black, grey, and desert tan where its accuracy, reliability, and semi-automatic action can be maximized.
